Project Engineer - Full Time

With a large portfolio of active projects across 9 major market sectors throughout Illinois and the surrounding states, Connelly Electric, Co. is the leading design build electrical contractors in the Chicagoland area. Connelly Electric is seeking an up-and-coming professional who is confident, self-motivated, and passionate about what they do. Project Engineer tasks will include assisting the Project Management Department with the intent of growing into the Project Manager role, serving as a liaison between the General Contractor and Electricians. All necessary training provided on site.

Essential Duties

• Performing drawing takeoffs
• Estimating materials and labor required for bidding projects
• Manage contracted projects in the field
• Ensure contract requirements are being met
• Managing proposals, submittals, and change orders
• Requesting and managing documents and drawings required for project closeout

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to meet critical deadlines
• Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
• Willing to educate themselves above and beyond training to gain expertise for a long-term position in the construction industry
