O'Hare T5 Parking Garage
Connelly Electric worked with AECOM Hunt Clayco Bowa and Solomon Cordwell Buenz to construct a new six-story parking garage in Terminal 5 at O’Hare airport. The new Terminal 5 (T5) Parking Garage more than doubled the amount of parking at the terminal, which handles both domestic and international passengers offering both short- and long-term parking options. This 687,224 SF structure is the first major parking facility for T5 since its original construction in 1993. This parking complex is part of the greater O’Hare 21 program, a major expansion and renovation of the terminal complex. The garage offers approximately 1,700 spaces, with an additional 600 surface lot spaces and features a camera-based parking guidance system that helps improve garage parking efficiency with real-time displays for availability of spaces, along with 48 Level II complimentary electric vehicle charging stations. It connects to Terminal 5 via a fully enclosed pedestrian bridge providing a modern, convenient parking option for travelers. Above photo by Chicago Department of Aviation.
Electrical systems installed by Connelly Electric included general purpose and emergency power systems, fire alarm, low voltage card access, CCTV, security, public address, park assist, and Smart Carte systems.
